About DP Dunham

The first thing you should know about D.P. Dunham is that he’s amazed you’re even reading this. He would have never thought that some goofy side project would turn into an actual novel, but here we are. If you’re wondering how we got to the aforementioned “here”, then let me serve you up a heaping helping of everyone’s favorite dish: context.

D.P. Dunham grew up in San Diego in the nineties. Like every other kid in the area at that time, he wanted to be a fighter pilot after watching Top Gun©™, but he couldn’t find the time for grades between books, video games, surfing, and girls. So, he did something he rarely does and lowered his standard, settling to become a UH-60 Blackhawk pilot instead. He walked into his local U.S. Army recruiting office and picked the closest aviation-adjacent job they had available that day: Air Traffic Control. He shipped out for basic training two weeks after high school and spent his favorite holiday, July 4th, ruckmarching through a sweltering Oklahoma summer.

D.P. Dunham quickly realized that air traffic control is very likely the best job in the world, so he made a career out of it. His travels, both during and after his military service, took him to Alabama, Germany, Kansas, Iraq, Phoenix, Alaska, back to his home state of California, first in Santa Maria then the greater Bay area, then back to Phoenix. Along the way he met the most amazing Saguaro Desert hottie, married her, then dragged her all across the globe. No matter where he went, he always had the same experience when there was some time to kill: almost everyone loved to chat about history. When he finally settled in Phoenix, still talking to planes every day, he decided to go to school and get a degree in one of his favorite pastimes. This is where he learned about some of the greatest stories never told about a group of amazing warriors, and he decided he would see if he could share those stories.

Forging Glory took almost 6 years to write on weekends and night shifts, all while raising an awesome daughter and a hilarious son. There are plans for even more stories, but for now, enjoy this tale of a young man becoming a knight, and look forward to his conquests as a holy warrior bent on creating a dynasty to be feared and respected.
